Fibonacci
A sequence whose successive ratios approach φ.
One number. Everything.
φ = (1 + √5) ÷ 2
The big part is to the small part as the whole is to the big part. Cut a square from a golden rectangle and what is left is another golden rectangle.

The golden ratio is the positive solution to x² = x + 1. It describes a relationship in which the whole is to the larger part as the larger part is to the smaller.
Remove a square from a golden rectangle. The rectangle that remains has the same proportions. Repeat the operation, and the relationship continues.
An experimental space for geometry and structure.
INSTRUMENT 001 / GOLDEN RECTANGLE
Change the scale. The size changes; the ratio does not. Width ÷ height always equals φ.
INSTRUMENT 003 / GOLDEN ANGLE
Place successive points at the golden angle and see a phyllotactic pattern emerge.
INSTRUMENT 002 / LOGARITHMIC SPIRAL
Explore how a curve expands at a constant proportional rate. This is a mathematical demonstration, not the Golden Bloom mark.

“One number. Every decision.”
THE IDEA
Phi is a way of thinking about relationship, structure and creative decisions. The Foundation brings research and experimentation together with design and artistic practice.
Born from the Phi System, a SUNSEEDS project developed in Brighton.
The original manifesto will be published here in its approved form, without rewriting its voice.
